Nostalgic photos thread

I did consider posting a photo of my first day at infant school way back in 1975 on this nostalgic thread, photographed with the rest of the class. But I've since reconsidered..... Mid 70s fashions that were inflicted on us young 'uns at the time should not be ever seen again..... Oh the horror...the horror!!

Came across this photo recently, certainly could be classed as nostalgic as well as traumatic! Anybody brought up in the 60s & 70s will have at some point had that family holiday in Butlins and the tortures that were inflicted upon them by the satantic Red-Coats. Anyway I was about 6 years old and sitting next my parents and brother, when I was abducted by a Red-coat and taken to the centre of the hall, the Red-coat then grabbed this woman and was told that I was Sasha De Stelle and she must kiss me! If it had been done these days I'm sure Social Services etc would have been notified like a shot. Two things spring to mind now about Butlins in the 1970s - cold/damp chalets & getting snogged off a older woman :lol:

Had this as a bairn and you can get the app for it off Apple now :D
Christ on a bike, I had one of these!

We had a Grundig that used the same system, dunno why it never caught on?
Just catching up with this thread, so might be seb already, but as I understand it, JVC, who developed VHS, basically bought up the rights to pretty much all new film releases to be released on video. Therefore, whilst VHS was hugely inferior to both Betamax and the Philips Video 2000 systems (the Philips being generally acknowledged as the superior), VHS cornered the market with the sheer volume of titles they had in comparison with the others.

Not much you can get fer 12p these days

I distinctly remember buying the very first edition of 2000AD from the newsagents on Stockton Road one Saturday morning. Apparently it's a collectors item now. Our bin men collected mine about two weeks after I bought it.

The only thing I've ever won was a colouring contest in 'Pippin' kids comic. The prize was a stuffed Midge mouse. My sister didn't help me at all despite what she said, I was always dead good at colouring, me.
