Make a BIR base gravy then every curry you make will be a piece of piss.

.....or alternatively you could try this for a Chinesey curry.
1-tablespoon of mild curry powder or paste.
1- teaspoon of chinese 5-spice powder.
1-tablespoon of cornflour.
Water.
3-tablespoons of vegetable oil.
4 oz onion finely chopped.
1-teaspoon orange squash concentrate.
1-teaspoon granulated sugar.
1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup.
Salt to taste.

1. Mix curry powder or paste with a little water and 5-spice powder to make a stiffish paste....let it stand a few minutes.
2. Mix cornflour with a tablespoon of water to make a smooth runny milky paste.
3. Warm the cornflour paste gently in a saucepan, stirring constantly to stop it going lumpy. When it starts to thicken add a bit more water and keep stirring. When it thickens again add a little more water...repeat until it's not going to thicken any more. Put it aside, keeping it warm.
4. Heat the oil in a wok/big frying pan and stir fry the onion for a couple of minutes. Add the curry paste and stir fry for a further minute...dinnet burn it man!!
5. Add whatever meat you're having and briskly stir fry for a couple of minutes. I usually add some bigger chunks of onion at this stage.
6. Right....add the warm cornflour sauce, orange squash concentrate, sugar and tomato ketchup and mix together thoroughly then add salt to taste.
7. Serve.

Obviously you can tweak this recipe and use hotter curry/chillies/ garlic etc.
