Anybody read Dennis Lehane books?

I've read quite a few and preferred the books to the film adaptations, not that they were awful, I just had my own images of characters. Good writer though.

Cracking books. The Given Day and Live By Night are both fantastic as well as the Kenzie-Gennaro books.
A trusted poster says aye so I might give them a go. Sounds like the type of thing me 80 odd year-old Mam likes nowadays. Psycho.

I wasn't as keen on the film Gone Baby Gone as I was the book. It wasn't a bad film but I couldn't relate it to the characters I already had in my head. Strange, but that often happens for me.
