As someone who works in finance and has built credit scorecards for banks etc I can safely tell you that your 816 means the sum total of fuck all.

Each lender has their own scoring system tailored to their own level of risk so a credit score given to you by a credit reference agency is just bollocks, usually spouted to get you to pay an obscene amount for an online "credit alert" system or other such crap.

Generally speaking if you're on the electoral role, have lived at the same address for a lengthy period, have few or no missed credit payments in the last 2 years and have consistent employment history you should get any credit you apply for.
