Our biggest issue is possession, or lack of. As suggested a 4-2-3-1 should, in theory, suit is. Our problem is within 5 minutes it will become a 4-5-1 just as the 4-3-3 becomes a 4-5-1.
The team I'm involved in play a 4-3-3(try to) when we have the ball, without the ball we encourage a loose 4-5-1. At the minute we struggle keeping the ball meaning we usually play 4-5-1 and until we can keep the ball this will continue.
Obviously there is a lot to it, but I feel a lot of our issues are down to not being able to string 5 passes together. Players have to defend when you ain't got the ball, we rarely have the ball.
