Prices for Premier League midfielders are shocking

Thing is though, nobody forces clubs to sign other Premier League players. There's a whole world out there but clubs are too lazy to scout it and too obsessed with instant success that they'd happily pay extortionate fees and extortionate wages on long contracts in the hope of getting a couple of seasons out of a player. They happily justify ticket prices on wage costs when they've got players in their 30s sitting on huge contracts that they can't shift though.

If you look at Schneiderlin and Southampton, they took a gamble on him as an 18 year old from France and developed him into a good player, Liverpool or whoever can't be arsed to do the same and want the finished article now, fair player to Southampton for getting as much as possible and reinvesting abroad

Yeah, but Southampton were able to make gambles like that because of the level they were at and less expectation at the time. Even now when they're introducing a few young players the expectation at somewhere like Southampton is nothing to what a club like Liverpool and the pressure on the manager is like.

TBF Liverpool are one club who has tried to blood young players. They've done so by also signing ready mades ones too. Only problem is the ready made ones have been so hit and miss it's got them into a situation where because they've lost a player like Suaraz they simply weren't able to replace, they've gone backwards and patience is beginning to wear thin with the manager.
