Sunderland, Villa, Bournemouth odds to stay up don't make sense

Sunderland to stay up as rewarding as 5/2 (improved in the bookies' eyes from 3-1 a few weeks back).
Bournemouth essentially even odds.
Ditto odds comparisons with the disarray at Villa and the landfill.
Betting Sunderland to stay up and any one of the other 3 to go down must be free money?

The odds reflect the bets being laid by the punters rather than current form. I'd imagine most people think more about the struggles we've had to stay up the last few seasons and the management shambles, rather than an away win at palace.

I do happen to think we are value to stay up but trust me there is no bookmaker agenda against us. Their odds are purely driven by money. A decent wedge of cash placed on it seems that price drop dramatically.

If you are that confident get a chunk on it.

Usually, the odds align with the league table, and adjusts fairly quickly, in real time.
We are currently 18th, but last in the "odds table".
This isn't a post about betting per se, but the overall disrespect shown to Sunderland.

It's not disrespect at all, it's where the money has been and currently is.

We're generally overpriced every week though, Palace have never been as low as they were odds wise last Monday night in the Premier League since 2004 apparently. Swansea have never been as low as they were away from home ever in the Premier League, same with Southampton. Without looking I'd dare bet we're decent long odds tomorrow with Stoke being favourite.

This. I'm guessing loads of punters lumped money on us early in the season right up until our first win of the season, and again after the Everton mauling. Bournemouth started the season well and have only started to be poor over the last few weeks.

I can't really explain why Villa are still evens though - possibly only because they haven't had as many seasons of shitness as us so people think they are "too good to go down"!

Who was that Villa fan on here at the beginning of the season. He got most upset with me when I predicted they would go down with Newcastle.

vs

Looking at the team stats, I would not put my money on Bournemouth to go down and Villa the odds would not be right.

A long way to catch up with Bournemouth for passing, possession and preventing shots conceded. All three teams create few shots.

Compare Stoke for betting purposes and 0-1 looks about par: http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/96/Statistics/England-Stoke

http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/14/Statistics/England-Leicester Leciester only look middle of the table though.

Possession stats and corners didn't count that week, I m gutted it prevented us from getting that magical 6th straight win. God knows what that must feel like. I wished we had done it though( if only we could of had the ball in our own half and had a couple of corners) can you imagine to be able to hold 5 fingers on one hand up and a single digit on the other. It would be brilliant if we could wave them at the mags, like they do to us. Missed opportunity, never mind there's always football manager to get the result we want
