Except for a elite couple of clubs (maybe just one) there is no money to be made in owning a PL club
I reckon deep down he rues the day he bumped into Quinny

I know what caused that, it was external matters that did for them. If we don't go for it, we will go down, it happens to them all in the end.Its left them £80 million in debt and financially crippled
Again I agree with you. Ellis would sell up right now if he could make close to his money backExcept for a elite couple of clubs (maybe just one) there is no money to be made in owning a PL club

everton are a one off as far as the premier league is concerned they don't often sell their best players unlike us to balance the books
It was also a completely different era, maybe only 10 or so years ago, but it's a lifetime in the way football and money has changedIts left them £80 million in debt and financially crippled
Exactly this, it's not Short who chooses to buy Bridcutt, Buckley, Rodwell. We have had just as much investment as most PL teams. Look at clubs like Swansea... something somewhere is just not right - and I don't think investment is the problem.
its only money that we have recouped in salesWe have spunked ridiculous amounts in the last 10 years
The problem is recruitment
Wrong players
Simple really
they have still kept the nuclease of the squad for years thoughRooney.
Rodwell. probably glad they did
Lescott. out of contract
Pienaar. still there isn't he
Fellaini.
Off the top of my head.
Go back to the money Keane & Bruce spent - mostly on shiteits only money that we have recouped in sales
if we kept Henderson bent etc etc and added to that we would be in a much better position
We sell our best players, or let them go for free. We buy lesser quality replacements and we plug the gap with a cynical overuse of the loan system. We've done that for three seasons and somehow survived. This season is different 'cos:SAFC have one of the lowest net spends in the league over the last three seasons. We sign bad players because we won't pay the going rate.
agree with that but to be fair to keane no one wanted to sign for us at the timeGo back to the money Keane & Bruce spent - mostly on shite

Got money back on Gyan, Bent, Cana, Jones etc but we let a good young un go for nowt! CW looks set to do the same. Too many times we've loaned players and lost them when they went back to their parent club. You can't keep doing that and survive. The Prem got wise to us this year and there are no loanees who will save us come next May. Worrying times.Go back to the money Keane & Bruce spent - mostly on shite
