It hasn't gone mad though. I'm surprised that anyone is surprised to be honest.
We all knew the Prem clubs were getting a bumper bonus from Sky this year, and since that affects everyone equally, the only tangible change to the market will be that prices will go up.

The way to actually gauge if a player is worth the money spent (or indeed if the 'worlds gone mad') is to calculate what % of the clubs total transfer budget has been spent on him.

ten million is nowt these days..can't underaynd why people think Borini would be way over the top. The amounts have jumped again…three million might get you some South America bloke who will hang about for a few months before buggering off back there..or some lump from Europe who couldnt hit a barn door..
