What kind of report is that?

He probably wants Messi and Ronaldo as well but that's not the same as a link.

The difference being of course that even if Advocaat 'wanted' Messi and Ronaldo, he would also know that there is no realistic prospect of either player agreeing to join SAFC or of SAFC having the resources to meet the fees that would be demanded by the two biggest clubs in football, particularly as the fees would be driven upwards by market forces, once it became known that one or both of the world's current best players were available.

However, with regard to Georginio Wijnaldum, Advocaat might reasonably believe that a Premier League club like SAFC would be a realistic destination for a young Netherlands midfield player who may have ambitions to play beyond the Eredivisie and that SAFC should be able to afford the likely transfer fee and salary demands of such a player. Also it is not an unexpected link, is it ? A Premier League club, with a respected Dutch manager, who is known to be looking to add quality to his first team, possibly being interested in a quality player from the Netherlands.

Whilst Wijnaldum is a very good player, he is not in the same league as Messi and Ronaldo and to suggest that he might be is just ridiculous

Don't be coming on here spouting your sensible, rational argument mate, this is not the place...

He's not quite the level of a top team yet. If Ellis is backing us we could get him, we would have to pay over the odds in wages but it's worth it

Would be a massive signing.

Can't see it, but I'd bloody love it to happen.

Let's get Clasie too!

Wijnaldum "Feeling decisive '

By Jeroen Kapteijns
Georginio Wijnaldum is coveted by several European (sub) top clubs. Among other Sunderland, Newcastle United, Zenit St Petersburg, AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille angling for the services of playmaker PSV. "Ultimately, my feeling is decisive," said Wijnaldum.
Eventually Wijnaldum personal choice will prevail. The former Feyenoord is an emotional person and has previously indicated only make a step higher as the picture quite right for him.
"It may happen this summer. But nothing must for me. Of course I have ambitions, but eventually my sense is decisive," Wijnaldum said it earlier.
Pröpper replacement
Given the many interests that are already relatively early have arisen in the summer transfer, chances nonetheless looms large that the league is going to hit again lost a top player. PSV have already anticipated a departure from Wijnaldum and contacted Vitesse midfielder Davy Pröpper.
