A good thing or a load of American television-inspired shite?

Lass at work's just had some flowers delivered from a fella who she sent for a meal with last night. They're googling the flowers to see how much they might have cost.

He's one of three or four blokes she's going out with on a regular basis and she keeps saying she feels guilty but all the other lasses at work say it's normal to do that sort of thing.

Is it better or worse if she's getting bucked off any/all of them? I used to work with a lass who used to go out with blokes and wouldn't let them touch her because she wanted to see how many free dinners/drinks/theatre tickets she could get out of them first. At least that's what she told us, the little dirt.

Very American thing. I personally don't like it. Think it's on the rise mainly because of internet dating.

this is very prescient given the conversation I had with my junior this morning. she's a bit of a social high flyer on the London scene so everything is a drama.

we were talking about her friend and a potential romance. She said

"mt, do you think this guy is gay?"

without hesitation after looking at his photo it's obvious he is

turns out her friend has been on 6, yes 6 separate evenings with him. she doesn't want to be humiliated if she then turns it into a dating scenario and he turns out to be gay.

already I'm staggered by the complexity.

I suggested she sleeps with him to find out. apparently this is absolutely not a done thing. the relationahsip stages are friends, close friends, dating, boyfriend"

I give up.

Doesn't it just prove that these men are weak as fuck.

Where are the lads who used to go out on Sunday nights, arrange to meet a bird and not turn up because they wanted to go out and get hammered with their mates instead.

Then you'd bump into her in another pub as she had to get bailed out by her mates and she knew exactly where you'd be as you always followed the same route, after a bit of a 'chat' you tell her you don't want any commitment and promptly neck on with another lass in the next bar to really piss her off.

Every man is an island.

What the fuck?

I've done:
Dating > bucking > girlfriend
Bucking > dating > girlfriend
Friends > bucking
Bucking
Friends

It seems like people these days pretend they have no intention of having sex with the person they're going out with, which is a lie. Pathetic.

if i found out i was one of how many, i'd sack her off.

Same marra.

if a lass said to me she was 'dating' someone else as well as seeing me she'd be dumped that second. you'd have to be a right mug to put up with that imo.

Potential for a lot of swapped diseases too. That could be quite bad news especially with Ebola taking over the world this Christmas.

Dear me I'm only 34 but I'm pleased I've been out of "the dating game" for 10 years now. I couldn't be bothered with that shit.

One of my mates is single, the fact he's bi sexual makes his dates a minefield.

I suppose it probably is difficult telling a lass you like it up the chuffer as well as shagging women

this is what I have done minus the dating

When I say 'dating', I mean going out for drinks/cinema/inviting a lass round mind with the intention of having sex with her.

I've never taken a lass out for a meal who wasn't my missus.

Tidied to reflect my past history.

The emboldened one is full of regrets because we were canny good friends and then didn't speak to each other again ever. As I recall the bucking wasn't even that good.

So he's a bottom, not a top?

I spent one evening of time and money on an old flame from school. at the end of the evening she told me she already had a boyfriend. never again.
