One thing I would say about Australia is that we made them look very good tonight, they annihilated Uruguay which wasn't a surprise but weren't great against Fiji, who showed a hell of a lot more heart than we did. If the Wales match meant any more than winning the pool, we would get a chance to see how good they really are next week. Not when that opinion involves describing one of best sides in the world as 'average'. There is no measure, objective or subjective, which could lead a fan of the sport to that conclusion. I'm not getting huffy. I surmising that you clearly don't watch a great deal of Rugby if you think Australia are average.
By pointing out that tackles like that get let go all the time, at international, European and domestic level? Watch much Rugby?

Gutted they have gone out but still really invested in the tournament and some very big games coming up:
Argentina vs Tonga tomorrow. Argies really should win and seal 2nd place, but a bonus try win for Tonga will see them take second
Wales vs Australia will decide top spot next Saturday and more than likely the winners will avoid an improved South Africa
Scotland vs Samoa also next Saturday (i'm going) - In Scotland's hands for second, but if they lose, Japan can pip them
France vs Ireland next Sunday - massive game and the winner will avoid NZ in the quarters.
+ Equally matched lower nations sides like Georgia vs Namibia, Romania vs Canada etc. where 3rd place finishes (and automatic qualification to next year is still at stake) and those games will be massive for those nations.
Then the knockout stage should yield some decent matches where most of the big boys will be there. It's just a shame that the host nation has limped out 2 weeks into a 6 week tournament - i just hope the stadiums remain full and that all enthusiasm has been lost.
I can't help but feel a massive opportunity to grow the game has been lost here, but then again that's what happens when 3 top 5 sides are drawn in the same group.
I thought the whole of England would be cheering us on now We'll try and get revenge for you next week against the Aussies anyway

I know mate, it will be more like 35-10 or so to Argentina, but then again Japan. Tonga have been really poor so far and i thought Namibia were very unlucky to lose by 14 - that was a very close match and most of the possession play seemed to be in Tonga's half. They blew some great try scoring opportunities. That won't happen! Fiji aside, the Pacific island sides have been the major disappointment of this tournament (which is ironic, given Fiji's record of three defeats).
My mistake, for some reason I thought Wales and Australia could meet again in the semis, just checked and seen how they split for the knockouts. Must be the whisky, but even this isn't strong enough after tonight.Scotland then Ireland / France or South Africa then New Zealand
I think they will want to win the group...
3 games next Saturday, 2 big ones and one absolute dead rubber . I'll watch the Scotland-Samoa game at St James' and then head over to the fan park for Wales vs Australia but will watch the boxing and international qualifiers that night over England-Uruguay and maybe just catch the highlights of that. Looking forward to seeing the fan park though.
Chris Robshaw, not very inspiring in a game where you need it. If only we had a David Pocock. Immense that lad was today.

We have a David Pocock. His name's Maro Itoje. Stuart Lancaster sent him home in July.
Stuart Lancaster is not very inspiring either in all honesty.
Not even Australian.
Specialist in falling short when it counts.
Not even Australian.
I blame Robert Mugabe
Have you told the IRB? We might get a rematch.
