In all seriousness we're trying but to no avail. We've been linked with players that have been linked with CL clubs in all five major European leagues and generally have been offering the best transfer fee and wages.

We're the average looking chancer in the club hitting on all the hotties but getting rejected.

I often see people on here (you included) saying there's nothing wrong with showing ambition, there is though if you end up going home on your own. It's sometimes better to, at some point, catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, get real and go and chat up the ordinary looking lass dancing on her own in the corner.

At some point the realisation smacks you in the face but there's no harm in trying. Better to go home with your tail between your legs rather than laying in your bed wondering what might have been.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not mate. Which players have either of those clubs signed with whom they were competing for the signature with top European clubs? As in Champions League teams from the main leagues.

So what you are saying is just because a player has an interest from a champions league side,we should keep away,like Leicester fan says ,you can dangle a carrot and it might just be persuasive.

A - being linked means absolutely nothing unless you believe everything you read in the Leicester Mercury.

B - you've no idea what Leicester are offering regarding wages unless you believe everything you read in the Leicester Mercury.

If that's all you try and no one takes the carrot (which is what you've found thus far) then you're stuck. It's all very well showing ambition but you're always going to struggle to attract the top players.

Not sure why you've brought Southampton and Swansea into it. They're the model all clubs would like to follow and almost the antithesis of what you're suggesting. Many of the players they sign look average on paper but they've got a plan and an idea of where they fit in order to make a good team. They don't need to try and sign these marquee players.

This isn't speculation, it's actually happening.

He's co-owned and the co-owners and club want to accept Leicester's offer as it's the biggest.

The stumbling block is even though Leicester have offered the best salary Aranguiz wants to go to Bayer Leverkusen.

That's simple the owners,they are minted and have big plans.

They wanted a big name manager and they got him,they also want big name players.

At the moment it's been a struggle,no surprise really as we have only been in the prem one season.

Money talks though,as it stands we have offered this guy serious money to join us,it's up to the player now.

Of course, it's a case of Leicester have offered €15m so if Bayer Leverkusen want him they better put up or no deal.

It's complicated but because of how this co ownership works I believe they could force him to join Leicester if they really wanted to.
