That would make loads more people worse off if it replaced working benefits.I stand to be corrected but the figure of £7.65 an hour (outside London) was the last calculation for a living wage.

I believe what I see, not what I read in newspapers.Bullshit
second one it is a Gov hoax, as has been proved but because people dont want to believe it they wont.
Do you know their income and out goings ?I believe what I see, not what I read in newspapers.
One of the biggest causes of food bank use is Zero Hour Contracts - One job, four people off the dole. While one is doing the work the other three are not earning any money at all.
All of that and no mention of the divide and rule Tory government waging class warfare? People don't go to the food bank out of choice, it's the result of swingeing government cuts aimed at perpetuating the gaping inequalities in society. While this government has no qualms at allowing crooks and swindlers to remain in cabinet positions with their astronomical wages, it is revelling in the creation of an underclass barely able to buy a loaf of bread. All is needed is the creation of a Living Wage to allow people to afford the necessities in life and the mass redistribution of wealth away from the greedy fat cat bankers responsible for this sorry mess.I still say that the following list of shitehawks are responsible for the current mess.
- The benefits system
- Those people who know how to find loopholes and abuse it
- Brighthouse and every other shop like it.
- Wonga and every single other paydayloan company like it
- The ridiculous ease people can gamble. Shit loads of bookies on the high street not to mention you can do it on your phone
- The "want it now, so I'll get it now" generation are crippling themselves and future generations.
Bullshit

I see people without jobs doing nowt all day apart from get hammered and regard picking the bairns up from school as an inconvenience.Do you know their income and out goings ?
Do you think the massive upswing in numbers of people using food banks has any correlation at all to the benefit changes and the imposing of benefit sanctions ?The recent changes to the welfare system have hit a lot of people hard and are a disgrace.
But the reality is there is a large section of society that don't want to work. The only thing they ironically work hard at is to avoid earning their keep.
You seem to think they are a Daily Mail orchestrated hoax.
I'm not talking about politics though I'm talking about people.
You say you don't deny them, then why is whenever a thread crops up about scroungers you immediately blame everyone else but the people themselves or turn it into a tirade against the City?
They can, problem is they have no fixed hours, 1 week they might qualify the next not, the DWP is in such a state at the minute it takes weeks to process a claim, so in the meantime no work, no money off to foodbanks. Can't they claim benefits for the weeks they have no work, or is it more complicated than that?
25% tipping scum.i picked a lass up from her lads at the bottom of shields ( i use the term lass very ,very loosely mind, i pick her up regular & take her to bingo, out drinking etc) we were driving along the bottom road going to her house then her phone goes off, she answers it and said " yes i won't be long im on my way now", i got to her house & she said "can you just wait & take me back to my lads then on to the bingo ? i said "yes" , i was waiting for her while some bloke got about 3-4 sealed boxes out of his car then took them to her house, then about 5 carrier bags, i sat there & waited for her as she put all the stuff away & she got back in the car, i said "timed that just right like for your delivery" she said "it was a delivery from the local food bank" i was f***ing stunned tbh ( although i don't know her ins & outs financially, what i do know is the amount of taxis she gets with me , she gets a taxi to school & back most days with the bairns about £6 a day not to mention the others) she said she herd about it & applied for it & qualified through the benefits shes on , i had to bite my f***ing lip tbh , i felt like saying "why don't you f***ing walk ya f***ing kids to school, stop the ciggies & bingo you fat cunt", i obviously couldn't like, so shes going to get them now when she can ( has a owt for nowt attitude) anyway dropped them off fare was around the £12 mark, "call it 15 mate " ! , f***ing utter scum they really are
Don't think it works that way. Can't they claim benefits for the weeks they have no work, or is it more complicated than that?
The vast and overwhelming majority.I don't demonise anyone that is unemployed simply because they can't get work.
You answered your own question there mate. Can't they claim benefits for the weeks they have no work, or is it more complicated than that?
It would be interesting to see if there is any truth in that. I suspect you may have a point. One of the biggest causes of food bank use is Zero Hour Contracts - One job, four people off the dole. While one is doing the work the other three are not earning any money at all.
I know loads of people who have never worked nor have any desire to. Maybe they're the only ones in the country, I'd guess not though.
I've never said otherwise. The vast and overwhelming majority.
IIRC you work in a pub. Is that right ?I believe what I see, not what I read in newspapers.
This is a major factor. Every time the are not earning a wage a new claim has to be made. They can, problem is they have no fixed hours, 1 week they might qualify the next not, the DWP is in such a state at the minute it takes weeks to process a claim, so in the meantime no work, no money off to foodbanks.
