I've never attempted to climb up Ben Nervous as our lass calls it but I'm determined to o it this year . Has anyone on here done it ?
Been up the tourist path way to the top .Even though the Ben is only 4500ft tall you cant see the summit until you actually get onto the plateau .So as you walking up you think you can see the top but it aint the top and you just seem to keep walking for ever .The last time I was there they were rebuilding the path as it was in a poor state .Even though they call it the tourist path it is defo a walk not to be taken lightly .

Aye, me and a few people from graft did the 3 peaks last year. Started off with Ben Nevis.

Would totally recommend it - it's a class walk. Coz we started off with that one we went off like there was nee tomorrow so we were fucked by the time we got to Scafell. Still did the three in 24 hours like.

Do it though mate - you'll enjoy Nevis.

I work with a lass who has the full book of 'Munros'. Must be nice but I'm happier just going for the walk.

You walked from Ben Nevis to Scafell in 24 hours ? :-O

Piss easy walk to the top. I actually didn't even know there was a cable car.

I ran up
Were you doing the silly half-marathon thing? I found quite a hard walk and Ms Z got a bit freaked by the heights. She also hates cable cars so there were a few bad moments when I was wondering how the hell we were going to get back down.

What's the munros mate? I'm not really into me walking I just did it for the crack. Is that like a set of hardest walks or something?
Something to do with hills / mountains over a certain height. Some of them are really difficult for approach reasons, not sure I could do some of them. Mind, although she was a clever woman she thought 24/7 meant 24th July.

3 peaks and 4 peaks. Got to the top and it was blizzard conditions. June.

Sure the record for the Nevis run is 90 mins from base to top back to base .When you walk up you see a few of these runners who pass you on the way up and pass you when you are still on the way up and they are coming back down .Mind seen some of them take some mental shortcuts .

Blimey, you must be fit as owt. I think we're doing a few days walking in Scotland in a couple of weeks since she won't go ski-ing anymore. Love walking in the Grampians. We did 3 days the other year and never saw one other person.

I did the 15 peaks in Wales with a guy who had spent the precious day stashing food parcels on the route so he didn't have to carry a pack. He was mental. And Welsh.

I try. I see beer as carb replacement so it suits me well.

Me too. It's bloody stunning up there. For a not too remote highland experience I love the walk from Pitlochry to Blair Atholl. Moulin pub for fodder.
