One of the best chippies i've been too and i've been to a canny few;)
Also one of the only places i've seen that still do curry and gravy battered buns

Looks the biz that Jim lad.

^^^Wrong 'un.^^^

Look lads - we've gotta wrong 'un here. Let's all point at him.

Tommy's @ Doxy lad. Scored very well on this thread and I've been nowhere else since (whey apart from a scandalously expensive joint in London). Even went yesterday - nee review though 'cos it was a Thursday - was lush though.
was miles out of his way but it was the only chip shop my grandad would go to, don't blame him either

The curry battered bun was perfected in that shop around 1987 iirc.

Looks like you have taken one fir the lads there. Looks shit. Often when mains gas is not available the fat can't get up to temperature. Hence the batter is smooth. Boiled not fried. Shit.

What is this place like my fishoverlord?

Just catching up on the stragglers from last week. I think we should organise a bus trip to investigate this :)

'It comes after Grimsby hosted the World Seafood Congress in September'

I presume @ozz @Montys Cat and @TerrysChippie were in attendance?

Possibly Terrys Chippie might have attended, he moves in different circles to me @ozz ;)
Fields chippy still going strong, ran by Tom Fields brother. Tom the grandad will be in his 90's now and still lives in the bungalow next to the garage in Esh where they still have their coldstore. The family fish empire is ran from there and they supply a number of businesses around County Durham including Bells shops.
