Unfortunately lots of folks have been caught up in the 'energy security' crap that Cameron keeps spouting, hence people thinking fracking will make fuel cheaper. Just another example of politician doublespeak.
well there is an argument that suggests that this recent contraction in wholesale energy prices is a deliberate OPEC ploy to make fracking non-viable production wise. pretty insidious if that is true.

 I thought the low prices were due to ISIS undercutting other suppliers.

Whaaaaat, why are they doing that? Unless it's to try and stifle any business ISIS get?

Have the yanks found new fields?

I spoke to an oil analyst and he thinks it's nothing to do with isis and it's all about the long-term viability of the middle east producers. he also thinks the yanks are building up stockpiles to drive prices down which will fuck, guess who......Russia.

Whey as large part of your fuel cost is transmission and shipping of fuel and wholesale cost surely is this is s much cheaper way of getting gas out of the ground then surely those costs will be passed on? Or taxed to fuck and the customers see nothing so it'll probably be the latter.

Yeah just lets burn every bit of gas and oil there ever was. Then what?

Any gas that we pull out of the ground in the UK will be sold on the open market. The public won't see cheaper prices because of it. It will in no way give us energy security or cheaper bills. It's all about making lots of money for those companies that drill and their investors.
