Miss France and the woke pixie haircut

I suspect that folk in the OP's linkie are actually more upset over her natural suntan than over her current hair cut, tbh ...

The story made the BBC news at 6.00pm. The main headline was the apparent outcry around a short haired woman being crowned Miss France for the first time. They then went on to present beauty contests as totally outdated, said they'd never been on mainstream TV over here for years and questioned 'WTF is going on in France for 7m people to have tuned in to watch that?'

A quite peculiar angle to the story in my view. Why not let women compete in beauty contests, home and abroad - and people watch them - if that's what they want to do?
