Considering all the games mentioned were premier league matches as wellI'm confused, is the thread about footy taking off in the US or that it's not?
I read the thread title as being for anyone who doubts the evidence that football isnt taking off.
And as another poster says, for the US arent those figures small?
Surely it should be 'for those who doubt football taking off in the US'
I have no doubt he exists in a parallel universe that had President Al Gore and Sunderland manager Brian CloughAn Altidore who could score goals would be a goldmine for us in America.
Was on holiday over there last month and a few locals upon hearing my accent wanted to talk about footy, who I supported etc with a genuine interest in the game.In the past year or so I've read an increasing number of articles from Americans who genuinely seem to be into the game properly. Often New York hipster types mind.
They enjoy an early morning craft beer in a bar with a load of like minded lads watching the footy.
Nowt wrong with that. Don't really understand the negative responses on here.

I hate baseball. Basketball and American Football are pretty entertaining, Ice Hockey is better than football
If you have not noticed the borders are open and they (Foreigners) are coming into the US in droves. Therefore most coming from loving Football (soccer) nations!!! This is a growing business and I'm sure the GE's & Comcast's of the world have the lobbyists in Washington to keep the borders open
Been looking to move to the US but your green card system puts me off. I am an IT professional with the relevant qualifications and last time I looked you had to jump through hoops!Question for the English fans here: WTF is up with your silly work permit rules?

I know you think you are being funny but really you just come across as an insecure tool.
I think the crux of the statement was the 56% increase. It's not gonna become the most popular sport in the nation overnight, but a 56% increase on last year is absolutely excellentI'm confused, is the thread about footy taking off in the US or that it's not?
I read the thread title as being for anyone who doubts the evidence that football isnt taking off.

Those figures are still extremely low. But in relative terms increasing.damn NBCSN killed it with the first weekend of the PL here in the US
