Off work sick but seen out

Last week I got sent home early from work with really bad migraines and dizziness. Went home, called in sick the following day because I still did not feel 100%. Got to about midday and felt abit better so I went out for some fresh air.

Low and behold as I'm walking through the city centre I bump into a colleague who questions my time off.

Got back into work to find a meeting arrangement with my manager as to why I was seen outside.

What are the grounds on this? Surely if you are off sick and obviously feel better you can't be expected to stay in your home?

I've "worked" with workshy malingerers like you before, you expect your colleagues to carry your workload while you're perfectly able to get into work, basically taking the piss out of them, but then you wonder why they don't like you & let the boss know when you're caught swinging the lead.

Ask for the snitchs medical qualifications as (s)he has obviously assessed that you are fit for work. Then mark her/his card and then at every opportunity refer to his/her untrustworthiness and penchant for running to tell tales, to all that are in earshot. Do it subtly though so you don't get into bother and give yourself a target of xmas to see if you can make him/her crack. You may as well get some sport out of it.

Oh aye, tell your gaffer you had a word with NHS Direct and they suggested you get yourself outside.
During my first job I had a serious medical condition. I would get nose bleeds regularly. The shift manager called a meeting with me involved and he actually said I should keep my finger out of my nose then maybe I wouldn't take so much time off  I asked to see his medical background and questioned if he knew more than my doctor. I spoke to the gaffer afterwards and told him what was happening and I was never questioned again about time off or going sick.

When he says in town he means on the piss and when he spotted the colleague he was laughing at them for going to work

Mate of mine was suspended for months from a major job based in London, once cleared he was so pissed off with them he went sick when his return date came around.
While on the sick he was interviewed on Sky Sports with the Barmy Army at a Test match in Melbourne luckily this never got back to his employers.

So fuck. Are you my gaffer like. You'd be the kind to grass me in

Woman who worked for me sent a post card to her unit from a holiday abroad.
At a subsequent sickness review she presented a doctors letter saying her depressive state would be helped.
No further action, bastard took the piss out of her work mates for years
But that's local government for you. No f***ing backbone and in league with the Trade Unions

Apply for another job elsewhere, you obviously had a twat as a colleague (or you yourself are a twat and your colleagues hate you) and management instead of brushing of a report have decided to investigate.
Its time to move on I think.
Stop pulling fake sickies also.

So he's right then - you were just pulling a fast one?

You got caught but if you say you had to get out for a walk and fresh air I can't see them having any grounds to take it further. But your card is obviously rightly marked.

For us, the jury of his peers, to pass verdict we really need to know where he lives, which city centre he was nabbed in, how pissed he was, and whether his second name's Borini.

a lass who worked for my mate got a months sick note from the doctor for a bad back - next thing we knew she was posting pictures of her out on the piss and water-skiing while on holiday on bellend book - she was hauled in by HR when she got back to the office - think he said she got a written warning for that one which she accepted cos she knew she'd been rumbled

When I worked at Jap camp there was a lad on long term sick got called in for a 'discussion' during which he was shown VHS footage of him playing Sunday league football the previous weekend. Fair cop I suppose.

:D

Over here now you need a doctors note even if you are off for 1 day. If you are off for a longer period of time the doctor's note specifies times during the day you must be in the house as work can send out the company doctor to check on you

Bit strong like, isn't it? I haven't been to the doctor for many a year but I'm sure there was about a 2 week wait for the first available appointment.
