Okay then lads, to all those who have posted on this thread I give many thanks. The tickets are bought, the bags are packed - its go-time! I'll post on this thread but for those who care to follow the journey I'll be updating here: http://instagram.com/p/tHCXApnzvf/?modal=true

FTM!

Enjoy yourself mate. Mind they're a canny side so it might be a tough game, but we can do it!

Not sure why Newcastle would not be high up on the list as it has some excellent architecture, pubs, museums etc. and has a nice vibe. Lets be honest, it's a far better city centre than Sunderland.
Fuck off Mag sympathiser! ;)

I've never driven outside the US before so I imagine driving on the left side of the road will be a bit of a shock.
Practice your roundabouts! ;)

Love number 6, I might not be able to make that one work though. Sounds canny all that and quite similar to how my itinerary is shaping up, probably add Beamish and currently Alnwick/Lindsfarne might trump York. I think the walk over the bridge to the SOL on match day might be what I'm most looking forward to (other than getting the 3 pts of course.)

A question that the Mrs. has asked - what are some great places to go for tea time? Or high tea? Not sure I know the difference, but still...

You do realise after all this build up we'll get absolutely f***ing humped! Its the SAFC way I'm afraid. ;)

You can get a very nice afternoon tea in Lumley castle. Although tell the missus its only small cakes and sandwiches, so not to get her hopes up too much.

The early cup matches typically has smaller crowds than the later rounds, hope they can win on both occasions for your uk holiday.

Aye both Stoke in the cup and Swansea in the league will be difficult. Expecting 2-1 loss in both after taking an early lead like any proper Sunderland supporter would :)

 You expect us to score!

Its a shame Stoke is first and Swansea is second in the sense that Cup attendances are normally quite small and the atmosphere can be quite flat, also stoke won't bring many, but still worth going too! Id expect the Swansea game to be a bit better

As a pre-Jozy American fan I am thrilled to have finally scheduled my flight and heading to England from America to see my first match in person at the SoL vs the Swans.

Any recommendations on the best place to stay in or around Sunderland? I'll have my Mrs and bairn with me as well.

We'll spend a few days in London and a few days in the northeast, what else should we do while in Sunderland?!

Cannit wait to cheer the lads on!
brilliant. enjoy
