A derby to be proud of

Aye, they love a bit of overtime at NP, especially on a Sunday ;)

As for this meeting, it's a good idea but the people attending it won't be the ones who cause the trouble.

This. All the fans who want nice relations between the two sets of supporters can meet up and have a nice time all they want, but it wont change anything because those who lob smoke bombs etc at each other wont attend, probably wont read about it and, if they do, wont give a fuck.

I presume that first sentence is a dig at me. How can you possibly read that list and claim the police don't want to sanitise the derby? We're twisting because if that list represents the Police's thinking (and it obviously does) then we're fighting a losing battle. There's a difference between coming together to battle against ridiculous draconian measures implemented and coming together to applaud each other down the road FFS.

When did I ever say the police don't want to sanitise the derby? I think you've missed the point entirely.

That was a list proposed by the police. Supporters, from both sides, pointed out to them that this wasn't feasible. It isn't going to happen.

The logic behind the FSF event is to prove the point that all football supporters are not animals and the vast majority get along just fine, day to day, regardless of rivalry.

I would also suggest that it was idiotic to leak that paper, whoever did it. It doesn't help matters and having attended a previous police meeting I was lead to believe the information shared was meant to be kept private. The paper isn't even relevant any more, but people are kicking off about it.

The way to get around these 'draconian measures' is by being reasonable and have discussions with the people you oppose. Creating a divisive 'us and them' mentality helps nothing.

Fighting a losing battle? Is there a bubble trip this year? I must have missed that.

The "poison" they're talking about goes back a lot further than football. They are very naive if they think a mid week session is going to get rid of that

You're right like to be fair.

I think the best thing to do is sit at home in your bedroom, picking things apart on the internet. Solves most of the world's problems.
