Great idea.

Weve all played Football Cricket..Nobody expects to go on to the field in these type sports and lose there life,a tragic tragic accident.

I hope Safc or the crowd recognise Phillip Hughes tomorrow.
R.I.P.

This - every single minute of every single game

1 person dead - 1 minute
He had 2 eyes - 2 minutes
He had 3 siblings - 3 minutes
His squad number was 4 - 4 minutes
He scored 5 goals in training last week - 5 minutes
He had 6 toes on one foot - 6 minutes
Etc. etc. etc.

I blame Diana - her death made this country full of professional grievers

Should get a few bites
What if he'd scored. Ton?

I'm as soft-arsed and sentimental as it gets but this is a daft idea.

Not a footballer, Not British, Not appropriate

I was born in 81, so if you could all clap for me in the 81st minute then I'd be honoured.

Feel free to add your applause requests and reasons for applauding here.

I remember when they were only once or twice a season.

Remember one vs West Ham (mebbes 92 5th round) at Roker and the whole stadium went from being jumping with excitement then on the ref's whistle absolutely dead silent. Only sound was the flagpole on the Clockstand clanking.

Then the ref's whistle again and the place explodes with sound.

Aye, minute's silences ain't what they used to be......
Bobby Moore one??

Think that was a league game.....................

should be a round of applause at all sporting events tomorrow and over the rest of the weekend IMO

some people like cricket and some people don't but no matter what people's opinion on that nobody deserves to lose their life let alone in the sporting arena

why the 63rd minute. whats the significance of this number ?

For Bobby Moore?

Doubt it, he died in 1993

Was it some mining accident then? Have a vague memory it was that.

No he died of cancer.

It was for Bobby Moore in February 1993..

Sunderland did a tribute to him, vaguely remember a miners lamp in the middle of the pitch for some reason (unless it was a urn and he was in it)
