I usually cba for it, but it’s my first one as a dad so I’m really looking forward to it.
The bairn is only 4 months old by the time
Christmas comes around so won’t know anything about it, but still looking forward to it more than previous years.

What a load of crap. That’s the reason they are poor mate. They can’t say no to the kids at anytime, or the take aways or the drink etc etc.
In some parts of the UK with large Eastern European populations (thinking East Anglia / East Midlands) you can indeed buy carp from Tesco.

don't celebrate it. one thing i miss about being in the US was live sports, cinema and the chinese being open. fuck all other than 3 hours at the boozer here.

Love Christmas day. I wouldn't call it a day to celebrate, however...
Spending time with family or friends, eating as much as possible, a few silly games and opening pressies.

Used to love it until about 10 years ago and now don't really enjoy it at all.
Always seem to be some niggly, little things go wrong around this time of year, whether its health issues or something like this years niggles which are the sound going off on the tv on every channel but BBC One and the vacuum cleaner suddenly deciding it can't be bothered to pick much up.

Agree with most of that, but expectations need to be tempered.
It can still be a wonderful time for children, even if they dont get that dream gift.
