Guardian Readers

The Guardian is a fairly left leaning newspaper, although they do sometimes have editorial pieces and articles from those who'd consider themselves more right leaning.

What characteristics of The Guardian readership do you believe to be incompatible with socialism?

Just asking, I don't read any newspaper, I get all my news from BBC.

Read by people who feel they empathise with the downtrodden working classes because they don't know if they'll be able to afford their next case of Dom Perignon due to the recession.

I'd always had her down as a Made In Chelsea type - thick as mince but dirty

I had her down as an entirely different character. Who'd have thunk it.

You can't beat a bit of Champagne Socialism!

I personally believe you can be socialist and wealthy though. Just like you can be a male feminist. You don't need to be a member of a certain group to sympathise and fight for their cause.

I just admit that a buy it on a Saturday but hate it when it's gay blokes in the blind date feature in the Weekend Magazine

Too heavily obsessed with being nice to gay people, appeasing feminists and being too scared to talk to women because of it, that the whole of the human race will die out because of it, and anything in there actually pertaining to socialism or modern trade union movements will be rendered wholly f***ing useless. Hope that answers your question.

makes it a shite sight easier

I like The Guardian. It's like being told the news by a sociology lecturer. Prefer it to The Telegraph which is like getting the news from your grandad. Or the Sun & Mirror, which is like getting the news from a child. Also prefer it to The Daily Express which is like getting your news from your cousin who's comfortable in his straightjacket, and much better than the Daily Sport which is like being told a couple of bits of news from your creepy uncle who you've just woken up to him leering over your bed with a worrying grin on his face.

Imagine the state of the world if people did though DB. Nothing would actually get done as people would be too busy going on parades to show much they love feminists and gay people and dislike Putin whilst the whole economy crashed and everyone died of starvation from the stupid diet they were on.

What paper should everyone read?

As will everything, because we'll all be dead, because of the gays or something, if I follow your argument. It's quite a good one though

Why did the Dinosaurs die out? Gay Dinosuars

Why did the Mayan civilization collapse? Gay Mayans

Is someone talking about me?

the daily andrex. less shite on it.

The Guardian is alright imo. Brilliant football coverage, good news coverage. Opinion pieces are hit and miss, I only read the ones from people I like. Usually the funny ones; Charlie Brooker, Eva Wiseman, Stewart Lee, David Mitchell etc. Tend to avoid the "this is what you must think" stuff.

It's editorial line isn't nearly as pervasive as people might think. It can het a bit hectoring on specific topics (Leveson, stuff relating to the Met, Iraq etc.) but generally it's very balanced when compared to the likes of The Mail and Telegraph. Most of the editorial line lives within Comment is Free.

Seems daft limiting yourself to a single publication these days, but it's the first site I visit (after Twitter) when there's a major event unfolding, or if I want to read up on summat.

:lol: why the fuck would any men champion that 'cause?' It's just a load of Plutocratic nonsense from a bunch of lunatics with daddy issues. Normal well-adjusted women couldn't give a fuck.
