Krakow

Who’s everyone used for Auschwitz recently? Heading owa for a long weekend with owa lass and want to book it again as she’s never been. Used Escape2poland last time but the prices seem to have rocketed and it’s £120 for both with a hotel pick up. Can see others for cheaper at £80ish for both with hotel pick up. Some of the reviews seem to say they can change the pick up time the day before from 5.30am-2pm which seems a ballache cos it’s happened to a few but that doesn’t seem to happen with Escape2poland.
We just asked the hotel to sort. Seems they had a deal with a few local hotels as they picked up at a couple others. Early morning was a good shout for us. Have a look at 25 Free Walking Tours at Kraków | GuruWalk for some local stuff too

Food to try

1. Zurek – A rich soup soured with fermented rye starter, served with a boiled egg – halved – and a meaty white kiełbasa.

2. Pierogi - unleavened dough with a variety of fillings most places will do a mix of fillings so you can try a few

3. Bigos - a stew with sauerkraut, meat, sausage, delicious.
Have you been to Poland before?

We went with Royal Tours.

That was with pick up from a bus stop near the main square but it was only 10 mins walk from our hotel.

Being a non meat eater I had a tough time finding decent food choices earlier this year in Prague. Is Krakow similarly mainly meat dishes? As Gdansk is on the coast is seafood plentiful?

Try Michal Krupa on facebook, he organises loads of trips. No money till the day. We did auschwitz with him, spot on. If u want to do salt mines book in advance for both really. Krakow is a great place

I went to Krakow last year, there’s a few Vegan places that are good IMO. We didn’t struggle eating out

Krakow and Wroclaw great places to visit.
My lads been in Wroclaw since last Friday visiting his mate (English). Luckily His mate is married to a polish lass, who runs a big corporation, and have a house out there. His mate and family have a house out there with herds of wild deer roaming past. Due back on the last flight by Ryan Air out of Wroclaw for the season on Sunday.. They both did the Wroclaw half marathon a month or two ago in Wroclaw and the lad loves the place. He must do he has been a few times this year.

We booked using supercracow via get your guide , just checked and for three adults (one oldie) it was £111 full day tour of both sites and coach was nice and modern. We also did a private golf buggy tour which was great too and salt mines on the last morning which was canny as a one off but wouldn’t go again

That’s who we’ve booked with there. Reviews seem to be decent enough.
