Prices for Premier League midfielders are shocking

Yep, the big clubs enormous wealth is pulling the prices of all players higher and higher, leaving the non-CL teams with a real headache when it comes to buying. That £8m for a Leeds Utd defender is yet another example.

Fulham (in the Championship) paid £11m for Ross McCormack last season.

Players playing in England are over priced in general.

It was always going to happen with all that TV money coming in. A lot of mid-table teams are looking to strengthen now instead waiting until next year.

These players often don't make the grade at the top clubs. They then struggle to find a new club due to an inflated belief in their own talent and the unwillingness to reduce their salary (not always but often)

Transfer fees aren't the trouble that money stays in football Wages and agent's fees are the problem.

Schneiderlin is a very good player IMO but you do have to pay big sums of money for top cm's that already play in this league.

He probably still would not of came but we should of offered Swansea 8-10m for Ki last summer, the lad is a top player.

We do need to add quality in that area and I think we probably will see 2 new cm's arrive. If we want quality though we will probably have to look abroad unless we are prepared to pay big money

Yet, when we sell players we seem to get fuck all for them.
We don't tend to have any 'in demand' players - they're usually at the end of contract, end of loan or we're paying someone to take them off our hands!

Any average Joe goes for daft money these days. Fees have become so inflated over the last few years.
