Travellers arriving on mass

The Police aren't actually scared of anyone and must uphold the law. However, there are some instances involving this particular community where it's best to maintain a watching brief and to act when needed.

Best for whom? The police or the travellers? Certainly doesn't appear to be best for the residents of Seaham and surroundings who are seeing their businesses robbed or extorted, or receiving rape threats.

Am sure that the Police in the instances mentioned will of spoken with the event organisers to express concerns about standards of behaviour.

Ah well, if they're going to speak to the event organisers, maybe over a nice cup of tea, that's OK then.

Perhaps if I order food and get a refund through threatening violence, shit on someone's floor and threaten to rape someone, maybe the police can speak with my missus to express concerns about standards of behaviour.

How about instead of expressing concerns they actually arrest and charge people for crimes, rather than standing back and letting it all play out.

Pitiful.

The ignorance and idiocy comment is based on the fact that nobody on here actually knows what the police response is, so they are jumping to their own conclusions. I have already suggested that one poster contact the police to answer his important question and he thought it more appropriate to try and ridicule my suggestion instead. Nobody has given any shred of evidence to support their ideas. As far as I'm aware nobody from here has spent any time at the travellers site, why would they? All any of you have is hearsay and individual incidents that you have heard about. How do any of you know there has been no police action for these incidents? That's my burning question, I'd love to know the answer.

I'm not there either mate, but I'm guessing that people who are actually experiencing this are judging what the police response is from the fact that they are seeing people breaking the law with apparent impunity day after day for much of the week, and they don't seem to be receiving much protection and the problems are continuing day after day. Which suggests to me that there is either minimal action or what there is, is inadequate and ineffectual.

Is there a big police presence on the streets in Seaham? If not, why not?

Haway then put some pictures up.

Noble wants to build a permanent caravan site on that land now.
Thats going to go down well :D

I thought it had already been established that the bit of land isnt anything to do with Noble. All they do is use the land for the car boat sale.
