I think you're being precious here like, I'd stop my lass from doing things I think are unsafe and I wouldn't be overly comfortable if she was in a taxi by herself.

Women are generally more vulnerable than men so I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be

I get taxis alone plenty and if my husband forbade me to I'd tell him to stop being a daft sod, and anyway who put him in charge of what I do.

I don't think it's unreasonable to stop someone doing something you think is unsafe, the wife won't let me get a motorbike, she's not trying to control me she just doesn't want me to die because she cares, well it's probably more to do with the income she'd lose and that.

I don't think I'd mind if our lass went in a taxi like a London cab or a taxi driver I know which I do.

It's not unsafe though. If a lass gets attacked in a taxi, is your immediate thought that she shouldn't have put herself in that situation in the first place? Or is it the person attacking her's fault?

Stop adding ridiculous shit to the list of stuff we can't do because we're women. I just want to get from A to B.

My Mam upped sticks and moved to London by herself when she finished school. Who the fuck am I to advise her on staying safe in a taxi?

To be honest, after reading this forum for some time now, I don't think it is only the Asian community that needs to give their heads a shake when it comes to their opinion of women, especially young white women.

And perhaps, if so many young white women weren't so slapperish in their behaviour and loose in their morals, men of all varieties would have more respect for all of them and wouldn't see them as something to be exploited and taken advantage of.

Of course the disadvantage of that would be that you wouldn't get women going out in skimpy clothing, lying drunk in gutters, being shagged from behind outside of clubs or finger blasted in the local pub.​

It's just called looking out for people, I'm not sure how that can have sexist connotations, men and women are different and face different threats, no matter how small all someone said was they don't like the idea of it and suddenly, women are being repressed.

Men and women might be equal but they aren't the same.
