Ched Evans signing for.....

It's easy to pick and choose which mistakes you agree with supporting though. Loads of lads have sided with Evans over this one because know how close to the wind they sail themselves. Even a prostitute can be raped, if she was in no fit state to consent, and men have been convicted for doing so. The character of the girl in question, and her willingness to go to a hotel and have sex with the first lad, does not mean she was expecting, or wanting a threesome. It's too easy to vilify a girl who finds herself in that position, and that is why Evans is getting so much sympathy. The fact that he arranged the whole scenario, booked the room, got his mate to pick up a girl, and then went around to have his way with her seems to float over their moralistic heads. It actually shows a serious lack of morals in their own character, that they side with a predatory male over a drunk lass.
It isn't a case of siding with Evans though. He may (or may not ) be as guilty as hell for raping/planning a rape - you can decide for yourself that he is/isn't a complete ****. The point many of us are making is that we let the legal system (for better or worse) decide on what happened and to punish as it sees fit. As I said earlier, if the punishment is fifty five years in jail -then fine. BUT once the punishment is over then let the person get on with their life. You don't have to punish the person for ever and a day.

A bit unfair to question our morals.

Jesus. Another Ched thread. Good luck to Hartlepool- if I was a fan I wouldn't want a convicted rapist representing me but hey ho. I guess Hartlepool won't be getting many requests from local schools, hospitals or corporates for player appearances involving Chedd any time soon but then the publicity of having a convicted rapist playing for them might raise their profile in some perverted way.

Yeah he was guilty.

It's not often a player of Evans ability is available for a club like Hartlepool.

He was in the PFA Championship Team of the year last time and although it will take him time to get back to match fitness, He's got a proven track record of scoring goals and Hartlepool are desperate and need goals.

I guess she has the right not to be raped.

Ched also has the right not to be stalked by women in the hope that they can cling onto him and live a wag lifestyle.

Whoa there! Hang on, don't be ridiculous- yeah the court listened to the full evidence and found that, without a doubt she was raped, a victim of one the most heinous acts a human can do to another. But, but , but.....

Moore's post match comments were proper weird.

He made rape sound like a speeding offence and then just spouted a load of fiction about Evans.

Just had a look in The Poolie Bunker and I'm really surprised at the amount of opposition to his potential signing.
Good signing and the Pools do not have a lot of money coming in the door from advertisers to put pressure on the club...... I believe served time should be allowed to work....

Not to the jury and appeal judges. I shall therefore consider him a rapist until the legal system says otherwise.

He had drunken consent. It comes down to whether she was too drunk or not & that is something that (imho) can't be proved beyond all reasonable doubt.

I knar, fact is, someone will sign him eventually so given the position Pools are in I think it's a no brainer.
I don't know whether he'd join them though.

err it is, hence all these posts debating the subject.

well they don't, if you read what I actually said.
the jury can't disprove my opinion

He was convicted and lost an appeal. That's enough for me.

miscarriages of justice do happen. I'm not saying this case is, but just because he was convicted doesn't mean he did what he's accused of.
And purely going on what I've read on the case, I'm not convinced it's 'beyond all reasonable doubt' (that's not to say he could've done it)
