I've been looking for one of these ever since this thread to match the tea-towel me dad picked up at the time. I just about choked when I saw the tea towel listing today.

I finally picked up a complete squad signature piece though, Porterfield included. Once I find a plate like yours I'm going to focus on '37.

Bloody Hell I have that tea towel, didn't think it would be worth that much!

This is the front and back of my ticket - signed by Dave Mackay who was walking up Wembley Way. He was surrounded by Sunderland supporters and when asked who would win he said Sunderland, when told he was just saying that he said "no you will win".

We went on the train from Newcastle at 7 minutes past one in the morning!

loving this

Me X has all the 37 stuff too, tickets and a programme , I'd ask her for pictures of the stuff but.......I'll ask the bairn I'll have more joy ;)

Caught Sunderland off her like an STD!!

Same as a few others with all the programmes and various newspapers. Other bits and bobs as well as an unused final ticket. Very nice little collection amongst various other SAFC stuff.

Any idea what the story is behind that marra?

There has to have been a very good reason for it not having been used by the person who bought it or it not being made available for someone else to use - they were like gold dust at the time!

My Dad has got one of them and it's faded as well.

He's got a box file with programmes, ticket stubs, Football Echo, rosettes and all sorts in. He's even kept the vouchers that were given out that you needed to get tickets. He was lucky enough to have the vouchers for both the semi final and the final.

Yeah, Im kinda bummed about how the writing has faded.

My dad has a photo of him and my grandad with the cup. I got him a photo signed by Monty for Xmas a few years back.

My dad and my older brother went. I was too young. I have the two final ticket stubs, programmes and the semi final programme. I don't have kids so I got one set framed and gave them to my nephew for posterity. He will probably end up with my framed set eventually. They were drinking in the Whiteleas club the night before then went straight for the train. I have the souvenir newspaper, Telegraph I think, bought in London.

Just been looking in my cupboard at some of my Grandads old stuff and came across this.

Was my Grandads and he gave it to me before he died 4 years ago. Got me thinking, anyone else got any memorabilia from 73? Would be good to see what people have collected or had passed down from our most famous day in our history.
Me and me brother have a small suitcase full including a 50' long banner given out by the journal , the night before Wembley... stuck out side of the carriage on the train down south ran the entire length. Footy echos, programmes and stuff...must have a look inside one day soon. "Memories, from the corners of my mind. Misty wate........" Barbra Streisand

Check the timings of this train journey out !
Arrive Kings Cross at 06:27, Depart 23:35
Now that's what I call an away day.

I was living in Leeds at the time and so travelled on their "football special".

Can't remember the exact timings but I do know they weren't as generous as those.

However, I still had plenty of time to gloat given I was the only one wearing red and white!

When we arrived it was raining. We made for the old Covent Garden because we'd heard their pubs opened early. On the train home all I can remember is the sound of empty beer bottles rolling up and down the carriage.
