Could the Labour Party be a spent force?

Where did I say that? That's right, nowhere.

Politics supposedly represents all the peoples of this country. Where are the working-class politicians? How can a prty represent a people who it isn't in touch with? That's right, it can't.

Hes another "Rich lad" utterly out of touch with working people. Your inference was clear mate.
Having money if indeed he does doesnt make him out of touch nor dos it make anyone out of touch. You can be skint and out of touch or be millionaires like Labours front bench and be in touch oh hang on hmmm you may have a point there ;)

And you ignored the "vast majority" bit :rolleyes:

edit: and of course the bit about Aker.

how can it be the vast majority? it doesn't logically make any sense. UKIP has 24 MEPs, most who aren't that privileged (but even some were, so what? is it a crime or a taboo to be a successful person?).

and then 370+ councillors, who are not elitist because they're just ordinary local people.

As much as UKIP wants to appeal to ordinary people, I'll tell you we aren't interested in the petty class war politics of rich v. poor.

What a bell. I'm no Labour supporter.

The red tape I am talking about are workers rights. What workers rights do you think need slashing?

What wokers rights are the going to slash? Redtape covers a lot of stuff. Do you not think theres a case for getting rid of a lot of it? Or are you happy businesses have to jump through hoops constantly? Makes sense to me to get rid of a lot of it.

Wow good comeback there mate  Did i say you were?

A party that is more right wing than the tories will always find a way for big business to make more money at the expense of the working man

Cutting red tape is a great buzz word but in reality it means less rights for workers and easy for compaines to take the piss, shit contracts, pay etc all in the name of profit

Immensely rich coming from the supporter of a party whom:

1) induces mass immigration which is preferential and beneficial to big businesses who get away with paying less wages- (exploitation)
2) Employs thousands of council staff in Labour councils throughout the country on zero hour contracts
3) Has over 1200 council employees in Sunderland alone on just £7.65 an hour.

if you really believe Labour are a "party for the working man" or "for workers rights" then I'm afraid you need to see the bigger picture

Dont agree mate im a working man as you term it and some of the waste of time paperwork i have to do is ridiculous. All Parties should be in favour of this.

People seem to think of business as only Tesco, Sports Direct, Amazon etc. The red tape strangles the little fish. Rules need to be more aligned with the size and structure of businesses.

I recently had 4 forms to fill in from 4 different departments all saying the same thing Identical they were. When you point that out to said departments they just shrug and they all say if you dont do it and before certain dates theyll cancel your contract. Right pain in the arse it is! If someone can do something about shit like that im totally for it.

never said the are the party for tget working man but out of all the series ones they are the best bet

They don't have a great many clear policies, but those that they are releasing genuinely full me with dread.

I honestly believe letting that lot in charge again would be truly ruinous for this country. IMF bailout grade ruinous.

And their position on the West Lothian question is truly despicable; self interest at its worst and most blatant.

More restrictions on corporate giants
Less regulations on local businesses and livelihoods.

Blair was charismatic as they come yet seemed to get slated for being to polished

Do you judge you politicians and there ability of how they could run the country on the basis of there delivery?

No? Where did I say that? Hes extremely dull though isnt he, even the most ardent Labour Supporter would have to agree.

We know Labour is broken. That doesn't mean socialism is broken.
A broken Labour Party is still a better bet than the bloated, decaying cadaver that is the Westminster Tory Party. :)
