Why not UKIP, Lib Dem, Green, or anyone else?

In the past voting for anyone other than the main two parties hasn't affected who would be in government - ie if your main concern is not to end up with a Tory government then voting for the Lib Dems is pointless - the same goes if you don't want a Labour Government. Plenty of people end up voting for who they see as the least worst option who could form a government.

The next general election could be more interesting as it will be extremely close and votes for UKIP could end up delivering a Labour government and votes for the Greens maybe a Tory one. I'd say the most likely result at this point is a few UKIP MPs and a minority Labour government.

Enjoying your retirement Tony?

I know, being born in the North East and having an opinion beyond what my Dad told me I should do is shocking isn't it.

Beyond what your dad had? Did you mean to say different to what your dad had?

Aye, cos all those Tory voters' fathas in the south-east were rampant socialists weren't they?

There is odd anomaly tbf, who would have thought Labour's most successful leader was a war mongering Tory from Scotland. Politics never ceases to amaze ;)
It's not an odd anomaly. People tend to vote similar to their fathers because they generally come from the same background and have similar experiences to their parents. There's nothing odd or anomalous about it. I don't know if you've noticed, but there's very little social mobility in this country.

There is more here than the majority of the world, but I suppose that's taken for granted.

I detest the Tories on a par with the mags which is why I vote labour

I thought the Smoggies would be No 1 on your hitlist ;)

Good to see the labour mask slip last night in Rochester, the nasty london party in disguise . Don't think their opinion is any different of whiteworking class northerners than it is of the southern white van man, they are unelectable until they get rid of these middle class snobs that infest them

Aye, tactical voting, I get it, but viting Labour to stop the Tories wouldn't make much sense in the NE.
