That's not quite true. The police opinion of the girls, that they did view them as 'slappers' had much to do with the police inadequate response to the Rotherham abuse.

She said police accused her of lying when she spoke out about the abuse.
"They didn't believe me," she said. "They told me I was trouble - I went out with these men, I shouldn't go near these men.
"Nobody listened, I had police officers take me back to these men.

When I'm in London, I catch the tube to a stop further away from home because there's a taxi rank, and I get delivered to the door. It costs me a minimum of a tenner.

My husband never does this, and neither does our flatmate. They're men and they don't need to.

I'm tired of being scared. And it's expensive. We talk so much about the need for women to protect ourselves, and far less about the rights people have to go about their business at any time of day, in any state of inebriation, wearing whatever they choose without being attacked.

It's clearly not illegal as even the local council have said there are no reasons why this company shouldn't provide such a service.

Only it clearly is illegal . You can send a white driver if requested but you can not discriminate in employment on grounds of race . so you can't purposefully create or market an all white taxi firm to ensure no black drivers ever turn up .
An informal coalition of self employed white drivers might slip through the net but you couldn't market or advertise it

I do.

We've clubbed together in our tidy little suburban cul-de-sac to buy a cheap 6 seater MPV. When one of the womenfolk need to be transported anywhere one of the husbands will take them to their destination and we ask another female to chaperone a lone woman in case of women's 'issues'.

We are going to extend this to the school run so that our adolescent womenfolk aren't subjected to sexualisation on the journey to their place of education. Ideally we would home school them but that's another issue.

I'd feel uneasy letting a female family member get in a taxi alone in bishop never mind an Asian blokes taxi in Rochdale

Of the nine involved in Rochdale two were taxi drivers,if there had been two Doctors would you have been uneasy with a family member going to the Doctor?

The bloke who runs the company has been on 5live earlier giving an interview. He said tbf that you can request any driver. Either by name, colour or sex. I think it's possibly a good marketing strategy. women not wanting to be alone, the elderly with views of yesteryear or people who don't speak English. It could be racist, sexist or any other ist but it's supply and demand. People must want it.

Yes I listened to that, he was also told it was illegal.
