Fairly new to NFL so please bare with me.

What's the deal with Tim Tebow? I understand that he was great at college level and with Florida but what's happened to his career since then, have injuries finished him or is he just not good enough for NFL?

I noticed he didn't make the draft with his last team.

Put simply he isn't good enough for the NFL. The two are very different... Think of it this way - there are hundreds of college players that never make it as a pro, they don't get drafted or offered tryouts. Tebow was a fantastic player in college football but in the NFL everyone is fast and he can't run over players like he did in college.

His poor passing technique and lack of accuracy are exposed on a much larger scale in the NFL.

Bottom line is a great college QB doesn't always make a great NFL QB

More or less nailed the enigma that is Tebow in that post mate.

I remember hearing a quote about Tebow which I wish could remember who said it but basically It was something like 'if Tebow was stood on a beach and he attempted a throw a pass to the ocean, he would struggle to hit the water'.

I also remember the fcker running over the Bears when the Broncos benched Orton a few seasons ago. What an omen for things to come.

Have there been any signs of him making the step up?

Will he be set financially with his limited NFL career so far do you think? The money on offer for these guys is phenomenal. I've learned to love the draft with the live news feed from some college kids front room with massive extended families around the plastic wrapped armchairs. It's pretty heart warming to see how all of their lives will improve overnight, if only for the short term sadly.

It seems he is a popular guy in the US and his foundation seems to be a big deal. Seems quite a decent guy.

Doesn't that show that he has some ability though it was it a flurry run with the Broncos?

He's earned far more from his CBS TV contract that he'll earn from the NFL. The collective bargaining agreement restricted the money drafted players earn but he's likely set for life.

His college heroics, when he won games single handedly, along with his off the field activities mean he's hugely popular. In fact he's so popular it's become hip not to like him

Despite his short comings he has an incredible will to win. If anyone did sign him and have him run like he did in that game on a regular basis he'd be an injury waiting to happen.

Against the Bears.....definitely not mate. From what I remember when he got brought in he made loads of plays running the ball himself which was quite effective at first but you can't be predictable in the NFL

Unless he signed for the Pats of course in which case there would be a rule introduced that says you can't hit anyone with TEBOW on the back of a shirt

Thought you couldn't watch game pass on two different devices at the same time.

Currently had the jags game on iPad and Giants on iPhone?

Thought this wasn't allowed

Edit- just kicked me off the iPad

The Bears have had a bad few years then?

I'm a Cubs fan fwiw. I've started to get into baseball a little lately too as we've been spending a reasonable amount of time in the US as a family. Didn't think I'd ever get into this but I am!

Is that New England. Do they like him there?

Cubs are doing great this year. Knock out playoff game on Wednesday against the Pirates. Arrieta has been immense since the All star break.

Was that Mike Tice for the Raiders??
Aye.

Also can't believe J'Marcus 'The Turnstile' Webb is still on a NFL roster. Did you see him turned around looking at the QB on the Goldman sack?

Ha ha - I knew the turnstile was playing but missed that

I think he is still a great player but I would trade him. He won't be there next year and we need as many draft picks as possible to fix the mess Emery and Trestman left.
Might get a 3 or 4 if a contender suffers an injury to a RB. Otherwise probably get a 5 or 6.

The Bears without Forte is a scary thought mind. I reckon he will hit free agency next year and when he does I hope he goes to a team that look Super Bowl bound (not Green Bay though).

150 yards today, won the game. The difference between a wannabee like Murray and an 'already is' like Forte was stark.

I could see him traded to Dallas if they're in contention in a few weeks, their running game has gone to shite and it really shouldn't have behind that line.

The problem is that you either get something for him or nothing. You could argue that the more games we win this year the more damage we are doing. Next years draft will be crucial to the Bears and the new GM.

Dallas was where I was thinking he might end up. To be honest though it will be horrible seeing him in another teams colours.
