Come on then Andrew, Tiptoad has provided some official figures for long term unemployed which total up to about 60,000. Who do you think constitutes the rest of the 1 million ? Or are you not interested in them as you focus your attention on the "career unemployed" who piss their money up and claim free food to stick the boot into and scapegoat rather than see the reality of the situation.

I don't have a problem with benefit claimants. Must people with kids claim benefits afterall. It's the career unemployed that I can't abide.

We all know there are far more people who are long term unemployed than 60,000, those of us who live here that is.

JSA claimants are at 5,400 in South Tyneside while South Shields constituency is at 3,200. South Tyneside has the lowest number of JSA claimants its had since December 2008.

There are around 2,000 people who have been claiming JSA for over a year, it was half that 4 years ago so it isn't all rosie. To assume the majority of those people are lazy rather than living in an area with a really shitty job market is ludicrous.

There are issues with low pay/ no pay cycles in any deprived area, Sunderland included. But the numbers are nowhere near the shite your spouting in that post.
